Armenia distorts reality
TPresident of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has met with families of martyrs at the Presidential Palace. At the meeting, he also spoke abot the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. President declared that Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement is Azerbaijan's top priority and country achieved maximum results in the diplomatic plane.
Commenting on President Aliyev’s statement at a press conference on January 29, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan noted a statement contradicting the peaceful settlement of the NagornoKarabakh conflict.
"We do not need to talk about our capabilities and determination to protect both Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia. There is no need to go out and talk about it again. We know our capabilities in the matter of defense and damage," he said.
At the same time, Mnatsakanyan cynically noted that Armenia wants to peacefully resolve the conflict.
"For progress in such a process, it is important to have a peaceful atmosphere. I did not see the statement you quoted, but this path is not welcome. We can also use militant rhetoric," said Mnatsakanyan.
It's funny to hear such kind of militant speeches by Mnatsakanyan when the Azerbaijani army is three times bigger than the Armenian army in the number of personnel. According to 2018 Military Strength Ranking, Azerbaijan is on the 53rd place out of 136 countries, when Armenia ranks only 84th.
In recent years, the military potential of Azerbaijan has increased significantly, hereby drammatically changing the military balance between Azerbaijan and Armenia in favor of Baku.
The successes achieved in Agdere, Fizuli and Jabrail directionsin April 2016, as well as in Nakhchivan in May 2018, became possible as a result of comprehensive reforms carried out thanks to the care and attention provided by the Supreme Commander of the Azerbaijani army.
Both historical moments clearly demonstrate that the Azerbaijani Army is far superior to the Armenian army in terms of combat readiness, high fighting spirit, moral and psychological state and professionalism.
The Azerbaijani army is equipped with military products manufactured by enterprises of the Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan. Along with partners, such as Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Baku also increases military potential in cooperation with fraternal Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, South Africa, Israel and many other developed countries.
In turn, the military-industrial complex of Armenia is completely dependent on Russia. It financed at the expense of growing public debt of Armenia and the country lacks the capacity to produce serious weapons.
The statement by President Ilham Aliyev during the meeting with the families of martyrs is the principled position of the state on the NagornoKarabakh conflict settlement, which the head of state always stated unequivocally, said Spokesperson for the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry Leyla Abdullayeva on January 30. She was commenting on the words of Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan.
“This position is based on the wellknown resolutions of the UN Security Council, the norms and principles of international law. I do not see the need to comment further on this issue," she said.
