Apple Moves to the Emirates

-

The first Apple stores in the Middle East region have recently been launched in Dubai with hundreds flocking to the opening of the two-storey shops located at Dubai's Mall of the Emirates. With the second store also opening, in Abu Dhabi's Yas Mall, and a third Apple shop scheduled for Dubai Mall in May, Apple has made a significant shift into the Middle East.

an analyst at U.s.-based tech research firm Gartner, said the move into the Emirates made sense for Apple. Like all Apple stores, the Dubai and Abu Dhabi ones will offer a "Genius Bar" where experts will help customers with technical support and repairs, as well as free workshops that are open to the public (the UAE store will also offer ladies' only workshops). "Apple stores are really an extension into the community and the community of the UAE is incredible. They tend to expand into new markets only when they are prepared to commit sufficient resources to the region to have a real presence," Baker said. Apple now has 466 stores in 17 countries.
