SIEMENS VS. THE LEBANESE GOVERNMENT: A TWITTER MYSTERY
Lebanese Minister of Energy Cesar Abi Khalil found himself in an unfortunate Twitter situation when the CEO of Siemens, the largest industrial manufacturing company in Europe, confirmed that his company has in fact offered to help Lebanon fix its longstanding electricity problem, an incident which Abi Khalil has denied according to the Lebanese media. Offer rumors were ultimately confirmed after a Twitter user by the name of Yara Alandary addressed the question directly to Siemens CEO Joe Kaeser. “During the visit w/ our Chancellor, I did offer to help improve the whole electricity value chain and have our team to come in and assess what's best for the people. No response yet from Government. Our door is open! Offer still good. Call Anytime!” he casually replied, leaving the general public in a profound state of confusion.
