As soon as Lebanon’s new cabinet lineup was announced, people noticed one odd detail whereby the ministries of culture and agriculture were merged under one ministry led by appointed Agriculture and Culture Minister Abbas Mortada. And while culture is inherently integrated in the spelling of the word agriculture, the two disciplines practically have little to do with each other. Needless to say, the unconventional combination sparked hilarious reactions among Lebanese social media users who attempted to trace the logic behind the decision in their own way.
Facebook Reverses Plans to Introduce Ads to Whatsapp
Rejoice, ads are not coming to Whatsapp anytime soon! According to the Wall Street Journal, Facebook is no longer envisioning the integration of ads into the popular messaging platform it bought in 2014 and has in fact disbanded the team that was previously assigned to work on the project. And while this does not completely rule out future Facebook plans to integrate ads into Whatsapp’s Status feature, the move was praised for prioritizing value over material gain.
