#DOLLYPARTO­NCHALLENGE TAKES OVER INSTAGRAM

American singer/songwriter Dolly Parton started an online craze after she posted a picture to Instagram on January 21 showcasing herself across four different online platforms: Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram and Tinder, which she captioned “Get you a woman who can do it all” followed by a wink emoji. Little did the country icon know her collage would turn into a viral meme overnight, with countless people and fellow celebritie­s such as Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Oprah Winfrey, Will Smith and Ellen Degeneres among others jumping on the train with their own versions of the collage, which further contribute­d to its rapid proliferat­ion.

HADLEY GAMBLE MONA LISA MEME MAKES THE ROUNDS

Following the previously discussed online impact of her Davos interview with Gerbran Bassil, American anchor Hadley Gamble made it big on Instagram too after her face reaction was hilariousl­y photoshopp­ed onto the Mona Lisa. The image was even picked up by Gamble herself who posted it on her account with the caption “I literally have no words” in response to its viral impact within the Lebanese community. Her post was in turn shared countless times onto Lebanese Instagram users’ Stories as they joined her in laughing at the meme.

#EYESACRIFI­CELB: LEBANESE PEOPLE COVER THEIR EYE IN HONOR OF INJURED PROTESTERS

Out of the many protesters who were severely injured during violent clashes with police in Downtown Beirut this January, two young men lost their eye, prompting a nationwide solidarity campaign led by Lebanese activists. In honor of fellow demonstrat­ors who sustained severe eye injuries due to the use of rubber bullets and tear gas cannisters during protests, online users were posting pictures with one eye covered with their hand while sharing support messages in the caption.
