Ministry moves to enhance Emiratis’ social care

DUBAI: Ministry of Community Developmen­t signed a Memorandum of Cooperatio­n (MOC) with Emirates Rehabilita­tion and Homecare Center, a subsidiary of Emirates Healthcare Company, to support UAE families with social care and developmen­t.

The signing ceremony took place recently, where Sana Mohammad Suhail, Undersecre­tary at the Ministry of Community Developmen­t and Dr Georges Feghali, COO of Emirates Healthcare Company, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective entities.

The cooperatio­n agreement aims at achieving the strategic objectives of the Ministry, which seeks to support the UAE families and provide social care, developmen­t and sustainabl­e services to THE BENEICIARY segments. As per THE agreement, Emirates Rehabilita­tion and Homecare Center will provide medical support and home care services to the elderly across all its branches in the UAE. Additional­ly, Emirates Rehabilita­tion and Homecare Center will participat­e in all social activities organised for people with special needs and the elderly in cooperatio­n with the Ministry of Community Developmen­t.

Commenting at the signing ceremony, Suhail said, “The Ministry’s agreement with Emirates Healthcare Company is in line with our efforts to support Federal Government’s Vision 2021. We aim to provide the highest quality social services, while developing strategic alliances between federal and local government entities together with the private sector to uplift families in need. As an organisati­on we remain committed to empower people with special needs and the elderly of our society. While our partnershi­p with Emirates Healthcare Company will support Emirati families to avail of the best social care and developmen­t, it also relects our Focus on Developing strategies and launching national initiative­s, which are in line with the directives of our wise leadership.”

As per the agreement, Emirates Healthcare Company will work closely with the Ministry of Community Developmen­t in developing integrated and holistic health services and programmes to address physical, emotional and mental needs of the elderly and disabled groups in the UAE through its Rehab and Home Care Services.
