Biker sued for stabbing, robbing pedestrian

DUBAI: A biker who teamed up with youngsters to ambush a pedestrian, stab and rob him has been referred to the Dubai Criminal Court.

The unemployed Asian youth, 19, with the help of four youngsters intercepte­d the Indian accountant, 25, on a street in Al Qusais at around 7pm on Feb.11, as per his complaint at Al Qusais Police Station.

They beat him, stabbed him, whacked him with a metal rod and rode away with his gold necklace and Dhs1,000. He will stand trial on May 7. The youngsters were referred to the Dubai Juveniles Court.

The accountant complained before police and prosecutor­s that he was walking when the gang arrived on two motorbikes and intercepte­d him by knocking him with one of the bikes. He fell to the ground.

The defendant in question assaulted him. “He hacked the back of my head with a knife. He then hacked my left shoulder AND ingers WHILE others PUNCHED AND slapped me on various parts of my body.

“They frisked me and snatched Dhs1,000 from my trousers’ pocket. They also pulled my gold necklace off my neck AND LED,” Complained THE Accountant. Investigat­ors managed to identify them all.

They confessed and revealed that they and the third suspect rode to the area and spotted the victim walking along a pavement. The second and fourth remained on the bikes watching the situation around.

THE irst suspect SEIZED THE victim By the legs while the defendant and the third suspect assaulted him with knives. The irst one GRABBED HIS NECKLACE AND THE third one snatched his money.

Police frisked the defendant and seized the necklace. They raided the gang’s apartment in Al Hamriyah and seized a bloodstain­ed knife in the defendant’s bike and another in the other bike.

A police lieutenant gave a similar testimony and said he was the one who seized the second bloodstain­ed knife from under the bike’s seat.
