Dubai Culture takes Samsung partnershi­p to World Art Dubai 2018

DUBAI: Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated entity for culture, arts and heritage, is participat­ing in the fourth edition of World Art Dubai through its partnershi­p with Samsung Gulf Electronic­s, which was originally establishe­d to bring digital art to SIKKA Art Fair 2018. World Art Dubai, which was launched to cater to the growing demand for affordable, contempora­ry art in the Middle East, began on 18th April and will run until the 21st of the same month at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Dubai Culture’s World Art Dubai stand features a dedicated ‘Creatopia & The Frame Art Gallery ’, where selected Creatopia digital art is displayed on Samsung’s ‘The Frame’ TV screens in alignment with the Authority’s mandate to support emerging creative talent by providing artists with platforms for sharing their latest work. The Frame a TV that ingeniousl­y doubles as a A Digital Art Frame for photograph­s and works of art was created to seamlessly bring art into people’s homes and everyday lives.

World Art Dubai falls under Dubai Art Season, Dubai Culture’s lagship umbrella arts event, which runs throughout March and April each year under the patronage of Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice Chairman of Dubai Culture. Dubai Art Seasons holds pride of place in the city’s busy cultural calendar, featuring an array of arts events, with the aim of empowering the culture and arts sector to bring happiness to the Emirate’s society. The initiative is also aligned with the Authority’s vision of positionin­g Dubai as a global, creative and digital city for culture, heritage, arts and literature.

Creatopia (www.creatopia.ae) is a Dubai government-empowered virtual community for creativity. It was launched as part of Dubai Culture’s mandate to motivate, inspire and connect both establishe­d and emerging members of the creative ecosystem, and the arts and heritage communitie­s by sparking a digital creative transforma­tion online. Tapping into the millennial generation, the site has attracted artistic minds from the world over, including a high concentrat­ion of talents within in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
