Qureshi quashes death rumours triggered from Wikipedia page
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Thursday quashed reports that he had died, ater it emerged that changes had been made to his Wikipedia profile to say he had passed away.
Qureshi said that he was fine and on the path to recovery from the coronavirus. Earlier this month, Qureshi said he had tested positive for COVID-19 and had gone into self-isolation.
The foreign minister, in a tweet, had said: “This aternoon I felt a slight fever and immediately quarantined myself at home. I have now tested positive for COVID 19. By the grace of Allah, I feel strong and energetic. I will continue to carry on my duties from home. Please keep me in your prayers.”
This is the second time in the past few weeks that Qureshi has been hit by COVID-19. Ater the present illness, he was quickly admited in the Military Hospital in Rawalpindi, where he convalescing.
The minister has joined an unfortunately long list of lawmakers to have contracted the contagious disease. Two weeks ago, Mutahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) leader and Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications Syed Aminul Haq tested positive for coronavirus.
Twoweeksback,pakistanmuslimleague-nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif and spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb were tested positive. They have also recovered.
Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI) Jai Prakash, former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Minister of State for Narcotics Shehryar Afridi and PTI’S chief whip in the National Assembly Aamir Dogar havd also been diagnosed with COVID-19.
JUSTICE ISA’S WIFE: The wife of Supreme Court judge Justice Qazi Faez Isa on Thursday appeared before the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) authorities and provided the money trail for the purchase of her three properties in London.
She appeared before the Commissioner of Directorate of International Taxes Zulfikar Ahmad and his team in the FBR office in Islamabad. She deposed with them the entire record of remitance of money through banking channels from Pakistan to Britain to buy the properties.
