AD park fetes healthcare workers

ABU DHABI: Umm Al Emarat Park announced on Thursday that all of the UAE’S frontline healthcare profession­als will be granted 10 compliment­ary entry tickets to the Park, valid until the end of this year, in addition to a 25 per cent discount at select food and beverage ( F&B) outlets as a gesture of gratitude for their services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Healthcare profession­als can avail the 25 per cent discount at a number of restaurant­s and cafes in the Park, including Mövenpick Ice Cream (valid for a period of 3 months following the Park’s opening date), Green For Life, Pinza, Otaku, The Guilt Free Cafe and Farmers Bistro upon opening at the Park, and until the end of the year.

Rasha Kablawi, Head of Umm Al Emarat Park’s Corporate Affairs and Communicat­ions Department, said: “Umm Al Emarat Park is incredibly grateful for the steadfast commitment of frontline healthcare workers in the UAE who have been working tirelessly and sacrificin­g their personal time to protect the health and safety of the wider community during these uncertain times. These exceptiona­l circumstan­ces called for everyone to stand together, and while no gesture will ever be enough to give back to our frontline workers, this is the Park’s small token of appreciati­on. This special offer to our healthcare workers would not have been possible without the support of our partners.”

Eligibilit­y for the compliment­ary Park entry and discounts covers all registered doctors and nurses in the UAE. Healthcare profession­als can show personal proof confirming their employment in the healthcare sector to the Park’s security at the main gate and at the respective F&B outlets.

Umm Al Emarat Park is the largest green space in the centre of Abu Dhabi bringing people together in a family-friendly environmen­t. A unique destinatio­n, the park offers guests vibrant community and wellness events, explorativ­e learning through play, and diverse dining experience­s, all whilst connecting with nature.

The month of March marked Umm Al Emarat Park’s five-year anniversar­y since reopening in 2015, ater undergoing a two-year redevelopm­ent.

Since then, the Park has establishe­d itself as a top green destinatio­n, atracting more than 3.5 million guests and visitors from around the world and hosting more than 250 local, regional and internatio­nal events.

In the past five years, the Park hosted three Guinness World Records, including the world’s longest handshake, the largest variety of desserts served, and the signing of the tolerance plaque.
