AD cops hold over 43,000 tests for staff

ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi Police, in partnershi­p with with Pure Health, the largest laboratory operator in the GCC, conducted Covid-19 screenings for more than 43,000 members of the force since the launch of the screening programme in the second week of April 2020 across the emirate.

Brigadier Khalifa Mohammed Al Khaili, Director of Financial Services at Abu Dhabi Police, said, “Under the screening project, three teams of healthcare profession­als from Abu Dhabi Police and Pure Health are working simultaneo­usly in the frontline on this special campaign to fortify the nation’s fight against the deadly pandemic. The process included registrati­on, PCR Covid19 screening, lab testing and reporting across all areas in the emirate.”

Commenting on the campaign, Lieutenant Colonel Thurya Al Hashemi, Director of Medical Services at Abu Dhabi Police, said, “The assigned teams are working with high efficiency to enhance the efforts of the nation in dealing with the coronaviru­s pandemic. Our focus has been to provide continuous screening and protection to the health and wellness of the police force, inmates of reform and penal institutio­ns, and detainees, in order to enhance the health and safety of the community in general.”

Dr. Gurdeep Dhat, Chief Medical Officer at Pure Health, said, “We are proud to associate with the Abu Dhabi Police to conduct the massive Covid-19 screenings in the police force and ramp up the testing in the country. We have been collaborat­ing with healthcare providers and authoritie­s in the UAE in similar screening initiative­s across the nation since the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak.”

“We salute the heroic participat­ion of Abu Dhabi Police and thank them for the trust and cooperatio­ns they have shown to us. Abu Dhabi Police are at the forefront and it is our pride to have the opportunit­y to support the police with all its department­s who are the backbone of handling the pandemic situation effectivel­y day and night,” he added.

Dr. Shakoor Malik, Chief Scientific Officer at Pure Health, “We are collaborat­ing with several world-leading manufactur­ers and the products are being supplied by more than 10 globally reputed manufactur­es in the field of molecular diagnostic­s. This strategy has helped us to overcome global supply chain issues and we are able to provide continuous services to the community. Pure Health has been conducting COVID-19 tests through multiple screening centers, and have launched a mobile screening force and three processing locations across the UAE.
