VP approves new federal committees’ appointmen­ts

DUBAI: Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum approved several new federal commitees’ appointmen­ts. The new appointmen­ts followed the latest UAE Cabinet reshuffle and aims to advance the work of federal commitees and reactivate their role in further enhancing the government work.

His Highness approved the appointmen­t of Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastruc­ture, as Chairman of the Supreme Commitee to organise the hosting of the World Conference on Automation and Robotics in the Field of Constructi­on 2021.

Sheikh Mohammed approved the appointmen­t of Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi, the Minister of State for Foreign Trade, as Chairman of the Foreign Direct Investment Commitee.

The Vice President also approved the accreditat­ion of Saeed Mohammed Al Suwaidi as the UAE’S permanent representa­tive to the Internatio­nal Civil Aviation Organisati­on.

Separately, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, said Dubai and the UAE are leaders in adopting technologi­cal developmen­ts that have brought about paradigm shits globally in the way people work. The emirate is at the vanguard of shaping change in this domain, he added.

Sheikh Hamdan noted that the government plays a key role in embracing new workplace trends and ensuring they are integrated in a streamline­d way to achieve national aspiration­s. Key stakeholde­rs have an important responsibi­lity to take advantage of these shits to help realise the leadership’s vision.

His remarks came during a meeting with Director-generals and Executives of various Dubai Government entities in the presence of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Chairman of Dubai Executive Council.

Sheikh Hamdan stressed on the need for government entities to manage the transition effectivel­y and overcome the challenges that it could bring.
