Woman fined for flouting code set for holding event
DUBAI: The Dubai Police have fined a woman for organising a private party with a musical while not complying with physical distancing measures or wearing facemasks; in violation of the resolution No. 38 of 2020 issued by the Atorney General of the United Arab Emirates on enforcement of penalties for violations following Cabinet Resolution No. 17 of 2020 to contain the spread of the coronavirus, COVID-19.
Brigadier Jamal Salem Al-jallaf, director of the General Department of Criminal Investigations at Dubai Police, said the violator was fined as per resolution No. (38) for 2020 which states that a fine of Dhs10,000 is applicable to whoever invites or organises gatherings, meetings, private and public celebrations or being present in groups at public places or private farms.
He further confirmed that members of the band and guests were each slapped a fine of Dhs5,000 as per the same resolution.
Brig. Al-jallaf reminded members of the public to strictly adhere to the precautionary measures announced by the local authorities, and to report violators via the (Police Eye) service on smartphones, or by contacting the Dubai Police Call Centre (901).
SOCIAL SOLIDARITY FUND: The Dubai Police Social Solidarity Fund has assisted the force’s employees with Dhs16,867,000 from 2018 until mid-2020.
The financial assistance has reached 1781 military officers and civil employees of Dubai Police who were in need for humanitarian assistance due to emergency situations.
Major-general Dr Al Salal Saeed Bin Huwaidi Al Falasi, Assistant Commandant for Administration Affairs, Vice-president of the Dubai Police Social Solidarity Fund Council, said that council members work tirelessly to improve the provided services and broaden its application requirements in order to facilitate procedures to accept a larger number of various humanitarian cases.
“The council also seeks to enhance communication channels between different departments to achieve the council’s objectives, as well as to solidify cooperate loyalty among the employees,” Maj. Gen. Al Falasi added.
