PPP releases details of Bakhtawar’s would-be-hubby

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has released details of soon-to-be spouse of its chief Asif Ali Zardari’s daughter Bakhtawar and his family members to put to rest rumours regarding the upcoming engagement.

The PPP media cell clarified all the misinforma­tion being shared on social and electronic media. It said that Mahmood Choudhry — son of Mohammad Younas Chaudhry and Begum Suriya Choudhry — is based in a Gulf country, where he manages a diversifie­d business.

Bakhtawar will be engaged to Mahmood on Nov.27. Mahmood hails from Lahore. Younas Chaudhry migrated to the Gulf country in 1973, where through hard work, he establishe­d businesses in the constructi­on and transport industry.

Mahmood, the last born of 5 siblings was born on July 28, 1988 in the Gulf country. He completed his primary schooling there and secondary schooling in the United Kingdom. He went on to study law at the University of Durham.

The family’s primary country of residence remains the Gulf country where Mahmood runs his businesses in constructi­on, finance and tech.

While Bakhtawar from her account also tweeted: “Thank you everyone for the good wishes. Unfortunat­ely the cards were leaked before even scheduled to be officially sent! Have absolutely NO affiliatio­n with any family in the US, which is being popularly quoted by most media. Hope this clears up all misinforma­tion.”

Bakhtawar is the first of three children of Zardari and slain Benazir Bhuto, the other two being Bilawal and Asifa.

In an unrelated developmen­t, an unidentifi­ed body found from a burnt car near Bhurgri village was identified as Bilawal Wassan, a nephew of PPP leaders Manzoor Wassan and Nawab Wassan.

Bilawal Wassan was a police ASI and was posted at Laung Faqeer police checkpost, department officials said.

Police had earlier said that a car parked on roadside near Bhurgri village, was guted and a charred unidentifi­ed body found from the vehicle, which was being shited to a hospital.
