Sheikh Sultan grants plots of land to citizens

SHARJAH: The Sharjah Land Allocation Committee approved 707 requests for granting residentia­l lands to citizens in the emirate but declined 43 requests, which failed to meet the required conditions.

This was announced during a meeting held recently and attended by Waleed Bin Falah Al Mansouri, chairman of the committee, and a number of committee members.

Al Mansouri explained that the commitee discussed the best ways to meet the residents’ needs for residentia­l lands based on the directives of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the close follow-up by the Executive Council headed by Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Sharjah Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler, to meet the citizens’ needs for lands according to advanced, fast and simple work procedures.

He added that the committee would submit the approved land-granting requests to the Department of Planning and Survey, enabling it to take the necessary measures to allocate lands to the beneficiar­ies in accordance with the observed procedures in this regard.

He pointed out that the committee is keen on strengthen­ing means of co-operation and communicat­ion with all competent government department­s and establishm­ents with a view to completing and expediting procedures for allocating lands in accordance with the Sharjah government’s policies and developmen­t plans.

During its meeting, the committee thanked Eng. Khalid Bin Butti Al Muhairi, Chairman of Sharjah Department of Town Planning and Survey, in recognitio­n of his support for the committee’s work.

The meeting was also attended by Ismael Salem Obaid, vice chairman of the committee, and the committee members; namely, Abdullah Matar Taryam, Ahmed Abdullah Al Marzouqi, Laila Al Shamsi, Ahmed Sultan Al Dhuhori, Majid Humaid Al Dhabah, Hassan Mohammed Al Zaabi, Khalifa Saeed Al Ketbi and Aisha Thani Al Marri, committee rapporteur.
