UAE Rulers congratula­te Central African Republic leader

ABU DHABI: President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent a cable of congratula­tions to President of the Central African Republic Faustin-archange Touadera, on the occasion of being re-elected for another presidenti­al term.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, dispatched similar cables to the President of Central African Republic.

UAE CABINET APPROVES APPOINTMEN­T: The UAE Cabinet, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has approved a resolution to appoint Dr. Khalid Mohammed Al Khazraji as Director of Zayed University.

Al Khazraji has held a number of positions, including his experience in business administra­tion in the government and private sectors.

He was previously the Director General of the National Human Resources Developmen­t and Employment Authority (Tanmia) and UnderSecre­tary at the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisat­ion, formerly the UAE Ministry of Labour.

Al Khazraji supervised a number of projects, regulation­s, laws and decisions in the business and education sectors, and was a member of the team negotiatin­g a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the UAE and the United States.

TEMPORARY DANISH SUSPENSION OF FLIGHTS FROM UAE: In response to the latest media reports regarding the temporary Danish suspension of flights from the UAE, Faisal Lufi, Assistant Undersecre­tary for Consular Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Internatio­nal Cooperatio­n stressed that all accredited UAE testing centres are regularly subject to strict quality checks.

Severepena­ltiesareim­posedforno­n-compliance with internatio­nal standards to ensure the highest level of quality in testing, he added.

He noted that communicat­ion is currently underway with the Danish authoritie­s to clarify the details and cases behind the decision, in order to guarantee the safety and security of all travellers.
