DUBAI: The annual “Aluminium Can Collection” of the emirates environmental group(eeg) with the goal of minimising the hazardous effects of landfills, acid rain, and smog, as well as lessen future production cost, will be on Feb. 25 (Thursday).
Started in 1997, six years ater the establishment of the professional working group that supports the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (UNSDGS), the project this 2021 targets 20,000 kilo grammes( kgs)o fuse dc abs for recycling purposes rather than these ending up in landfills.

Al mar’ as hi said :“the aluminium industry annually emits millions of tons of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide that contributes to global warming and although aluminium cans represent only 1.4 per cent tons of general garbage, they represent 14.1 per cent of greenhouse gas impacts.”
“In addition, it requires for the production of every ton of new aluminium that has not been recycled, five tons of bauxite ore, which must be mined by diameter, milled, washed and alumina before smelting,” Al Mar’ashi also said.
The “Aluminium Can Collection,” supported by the Dubai Municipality and Dubai Tourism, and the Emirates Global Aluminium Company, adheres to five UNSDGS: 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities which espouses the creation of career and business opportunities, and investments in public transport, green public areas, improved urban planning and management), 12 (Sustainable Consumption and Production Paterns by concentrating on the more effective and more efficient use of resources to answer all economic-social-environ mental imbalances ), 13 (Climate Action which empowers everyone to be more responsible against natural and man-made calamities ),15( protection, restoration and promotion of the Sustainable Use of Land Resources, Forest Management, and Reduction of Biodiversity Loss because human life depends on what the earth could provide them), and 17 (Strengthening and Revitalisation of Global Partnership for Sustainable Development for no man is an island)
