Man arrested for possessing crystal meth in Dubai

DUBAI: A 35-year-old Asian man was arrested and referred to Criminal Court on drug trafficking charges, ater he was caught using and facilitating crystal meth in Dubai.

Official records point out that police were tipped off about the defendant’s drug activity, and a team was assigned to place him under arrest.

The defendant‘s house was raided and the search for drugs begun within seconds. However, the defendant took out a box containing 3 plastic bags of crystal meth and handed it to police.

At the time of the arrest, the defendant was accompanied by another female accomplice who was also using drugs.

Investigations revealed that the defendant was scoring the drugs from a female dealer for different amounts of money, and paid Dhs800 for the quantity that was seized by police.

AFRICAN JAILED IN THEFT CASE: An African cleaner, aged 49, was apprehended and prosecuted on robbery charges, ater he was caught stealing car accessories from an auto service shop in Dubai.

One of the employees at the shop noticed the missing brake pads and various car accessories worth Dhs5,205.

Surveillance cameras recorded the crime and the defendant was caught red-handed on tape.

When the employees confronted the defendant of his crime, he also found the stolen items hidden inside his apartment.

The police were informed about the robbery, and the defendant was arrested to receive legal punishment for his crime.

More recently, an Asian visitor, 38 years old, was arrested and referred to Criminal Court on drug trafficking charges, ater he smuggled 258g of heroin into the country.

The incident dates back to last September, when police learned about the defendant’s drug activities and planned an ambush to place him under arrest.

The arrest plan was successful and the defendant was caught in possession of heroin capsules, weighing 258g. Maximum punishment is expected for the defendant according to the major felony he had commited.
