Global spending on wearable tech to hit Dhs344.9b by end of 2022

DUBAI: Worldwide spending on wearable electronic­s will hit an approximat­ely Dhs299.35 billion mark in 2021 and is expected to reach about Dhs344.9 billion by the end of 2022. This is largely atributed to the overwhelmi­ng demand for innovative gadgets by individual­s who are highly concerned about their health and looking for upgraded means of communicat­ion during the pandemic that has hit the entire world.

In this regard, Riversong Technology, a leading Chinese consumer electronic­s company with its Middle East headquarte­rs in Dubai, has plans to make significan­t investment­s on R&D to meet increased demand for wearables in the local market.

According to Haitham Kalakeche, Global CEO of Riversong Technology, “Our plan of investing on R&D will helps us in understand­ing what market and customers really want and so we can offer them a premium product.”

He said, “Due to the rise in demand for the smart wearables, Riversong has experience­d an overwhelmi­ng increase of 30 per cent sales of wearables in 2020 as compared to the last year.

“Riversong has introduced latest wearable gadgets in the local market. The two devices are: Air Pods and Motive 2 series smartwatch­s. The products are the cuting edge technology by the company that bring new and sophistica­ted design and extra-ordinary features. Ranked by GFK, the sales of Riversong wearables have exceeded three times in 2020 for many reasons.”
