Abdullah affirms UAE’S keenness on Yemen stability
ABU DHABI: Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has affirmed the UAE’S stance towards Yemen, its keenness on the country’s security and stability and its support for its people in all circumstances.
Sheikh Abdullah made this statement during a phone conversation with Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Ahmed Awadh Bin Mubarak.
The two ministers discussed ways of furthering bilateral ties and the latest situation in Yemen.
Sheikh Abdullah discussed joint cooperation between the UAE and Sudan and means of developing them across all sectors over a phone call with Mariam Al-sadiq Al-mahdi, Foreign Minister of Sudan.
The two sides exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common interest.
Sheikh Abdullah re-affirmed the depth of the Uae-sudan relations and their continuous keenness to enhance them. He also wished the Republic of Sudan further stability, progress and prosperity.
Sheikh Abdullah recently met with Sayyid Badr Hamad al-busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman, as part of his official visit to Oman.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the strong historic ties between the UAE and Oman and ways of strengthening their overall cooperation. The ministers also discussed several issues related to joint Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) action, in addition to a number of regional and global issues of mutual concern.
They then discussed the coordination between the two countries in addressing the repercussions of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Sheikh Abdullah stressed that the ties between the UAE and Oman are witnessing significant development, supported by their leadership, emphasising his keenness to consolidate their cooperation to achieve their mutual interests.
He also expressed his wishes to Oman for further progress and prosperity, under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq Al Said, Sultan of Oman.
The meeting was atended by Mohammed Sultan Saif Al Suwaidi, UAE Ambassador to Oman.
Earlier, Sheikh Abdullah and Berdiniyaz Matiyev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, reviewed the prospects of accelerating cooperation between the two friendly nations across various fields.
This came as the UAE chief diplomat welcomed Matiyev at the Ministry’s HQ and reviewed the global fight against COVID-19 and cooperation between the two countries across economic, cultural, agricultural and health fields.
