Arab manager jailed for traffickin­g in cocaine

DUBAI: A 37- year-old arab manager was prosecuted by Dubai courts on drug traffickin­g charges, ater he was caught facilitati­ng cocaine to a female defendant in Dubai.

The incident took place during last September, when Anti-narcotics teams received a tip-off about the defendant’s drug activity in one of Dubai’s hotels. Police carried out investigat­ions and confirmed the defendant’s drug use, then set an ambush plan to place him under arrest.

Teams raided the hotel room in which the defendants were staying, and seized the cocaine ater apprehendi­ng both of them.

ASIAN TECHNICIAN FORGES SALARY CERTIFICAT­E: The Dubai Public Prosecutio­n referred an Asian technician to Criminal Court, for forging official documents to commit embezzleme­nt.

Official records point out that the defendant had filled a bank account request to get a credit card and an overdrat, by submiting a forged salary certificat­e. He requested a Dhs36,650 credit card, and an overdrat of Dhs19,900. The bank employees noticed the forged document and contacted the company to verify about the defendant’s salary certificat­e.

This is when the bank discovered that the defendant was not even an employee of the company mentioned in the submited documents.

6 AFRICANS BOOKED FOR HOLDING MAN HOSTAGE: A six-member African gang was prosecuted by Dubai courts on kidnapping, assault and robbery charges, ater they held a man hostage and poured him with hot water to steal his money.

During last June, the victim was lured by one of the female defendants, who pretended to be of a European national and approached him through a social media applicatio­n.

The defendant seduced the victim into meeting at her apartment to get to know each other beter, and the victim innocently believed her vicious lies. The victim headed to the address given by her, and knocked the door only to find a gang of 6 people who suddenly atacked him.

He was tied up and beaten to give up the money he had and his credit card’s password.

When the victim refused to give up the credit card’s number, one of the defendants stripped him naked and poured hot water on his private parts.

They managed to get the password, but failed to withdraw money from the victim’s account.

So, they continued assaulting the victim and filming him naked until he fell unconsciou­s.

The gang members were scared when the victim was unconsciou­s, and waited until he woke up then gave him some water and his phone back.

They rushed to flee the apartment and managed to steal Dhs2,400.
