Dubai Police, Spanish body discuss ties

DUBAI: The Dubai Police General Command and the Spanish Maritime Safety Agency have recently discussed ways to promote cooperatio­n and exchange of experience­s between both sides in the field of maritime training and rescue.

This was when Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, received a delegation from the Spanish Maritime Safety Agency at the Dubai Police Officers Club, in the presence of Dubai Police senior officers and officials.

The guest delegation included Julian Camus, Director of Training Centre; German Erostatbe, Director of Operations; Alberto Fernandez, Director of Systems, and Covadonga Suarez, Training Manager.

Al Marri affirmed Dubai Police’s keenness on developing the security and maritime rescue system, in line with the best global practices and standards in the field, especially since the Spanish Maritime Safety Agency has more than 28 rescue points along the Spanish coast and has a great experience in the field of maritime training and rescue.

The Spanish delegation expressed their high admiration of the agile and advanced maritime rescue system applied by the Dubai Police, praising the rescue efforts carried out by the Maritime Rescue Department in accordance with internatio­nal standards.

Recently, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, announced the top three best performing Dubai government entities of 2020.
