The UAE Health Ministry said that the Abu Dhabi EDE technology is the best system to detect COVID-19 cases in public places in minutes.
The authorities said, “EDE technology for infection detection is an innovative, fast and safe way to detect the possibility of infection with COVID-19 through remote investigation without the need to take samples for testing.”
Health experts during a media briefing on the latest development on COVID-19 said, “The system achieved 93.5% in accuracy of identifying infected individuals, and 83% in identifying uninfected individuals.”
This innovative technology can make many aspects of our lives safe and easy, including travel and access to leisure venues, shops and public places.
The EDE technology allows early detection and contributes to limiting the spread of the virus in public places at early stages.
The experimental results showed the high effectiveness of this technology, as more than 20,000 thousand people were tested with this device.
The a bud ha bi ede screening system investigates the possibility of infection with the COVID-19 virus by measuring electromagnetic waves that change when the RNA particles of the virus are present in a person’s body, providing an instant result.
“Abu Dhabi has adopted an integrated strategy to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, based on increased testing to ensure safe entry into the emirate, vaccination and the continued implementation of precautionary measures,” Dr Jamal Mohammed Al Kaabi, Undersecretary at Department of Health - Abu Dhabi, said.
“The use of the EDE scanning system is part of this strategy and reflects the leadership’s vision in harnessing modern technology to create solutions that turn challenges into opportunities. The EDE scanners will be used alongside other approved testing methods, such as PCR and DPI.”
STUDIES ON VACCINES’ EFFECTIVENESS ON COVID-19 VARIANTS ONGOING: The health authorities in the UAE said on Tuesday that the COVID-19 vaccines are still considered new and scientific studies on its effectiveness and impact are ongoing.
“It is recommended that the eligible individuals take the vaccines ater consulting a specialised doctor as to protect themselves and support the national effort in combating the pandemic,” authorities said during weekly briefing on virus situation in the UAE.
Authorities confirmed that the process of developing and changing vaccines and medicines is ongoing, in order to get the best vaccine to combat the genetic variation of the COVID-19 virus.
“As the UAE health sector follows the best ways to protect society, it is critical to provide vaccines to control the pandemic, including the booster shot, given ater the main doses to stimulate immunity,” said official.
“The UAE has established an advanced and comprehensive health system for detecting and treating COVID-19 cases across the UAE,” said authorities.
“Specialised hospitals open their doors to work as additional medical ready facilities equipped to deal with cases as per the highest international standards,” official concluded.
UAE COVID-19 CASES DECREASE WITH EARLY DETECTION: The UAE Health Ministry said the country has built a comprehensive healthcare system to detect and curb the spread of coronavirus in the society.
The authorities said the readiness of healthcare systems via a comprehensive health structure, planning, advance preparation, viewing scientific experiments, training and examining potential scenarios, contributed to protecting society and preventing further complications from the pandemic.
The UAE is combating the COVID-19 pandemic with an active and strong national structure and skilled expertise capable of handling the effects of this crisis and surpassing it, supported by the awareness and commitment of all members of society.
