SHARJAH: Different areas of the UAE witnessed rainfall on Wednesday, as a result of the country being affected by low, surface winds from the Red Sea, and from the south of Iran, accompanied by east and southeast winds and increase in temperature. This resulted in the development of cumulus rain clouds.

Light rains lashed scatered areas of Sharjah and Al Ain while moderate rains lashed the Zayed City in Al Dhafra region and on the island of Abu Dhabi, Bahia, Mussafah, scatered areas of Abu Dhabi and Al Barsha in Dubai. Heavy rains with thunder lashed Jebel Ali in Dubai.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) called for caution while driving during rainfall and with the lack of horizontal visibility, due to rains and dust stirring winds. NCM advised to stay away from valleys and places of water accumulations.

Thursday’s weather is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with a chance of cumulus rainy clouds to the east in the aternoon, and the possibility of rain falling on some western and southern regions.
