ERC PROVIDED 3 WATER-SAVING STATIONS TO SUDAN’S NORTH KORDOFAN STATE: The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), through the UAE Embassy in the Republic of Sudan, recently presented three integrated solar-powered stations to provide water in areas experiencing scarcity of this vital resource in Sudan’s North Kordofan State.
The initiative is part of ERC’S efforts to expand the scope of Suqia UAE projects in many countries that face challenges to provide safe drinking water sources due to drought.
Over 75,000 people will benefit from these stations in Jebrat Al Sheikh locality, as well as the villages of Wadi Al Habal, Umm Shajira and Raheed Abu Sita in North Kordofan state.
Hamad Mohammed Humaid Al Junaibi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Sudan, said that these stations are in line with the UAE’S framework aimed at supporting projects that meet the needs of beneficiaries in providing drinking water, underscoring the continuation of UAE’S support to Sudan in all humanitarian and developmental fields.
Fahd Abdul Rahman Bin Sultan, Deputy
Secretary-general for Development and International Cooperation at the ERC, noted that the ERC ataches great importance to the water-saving project in countries that suffer from scarce water resources, and always seeks to expand the scope of its initiatives in this regard, considering that water is the backbone of life.
