Shurooq gears up for the global launch of new projects at ATM

Sharjah Investment and Developmen­t Authority (Shurooq), under the umbrella of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Developmen­t Authority (SCTDA), has announced its fiteenth consecutiv­e participat­ion at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from May 9 – 12. The authority will also be present at their online event, ATM Virtual, from May 17 – 18.

Furthering its mission to continue boosting the UAE’S and the region’s business and investment potential in the authentic, eco-inspired travel sector, Shurooq will unveil new hospitalit­y projects at the 29th edition of ATM, along with showcasing its diverse and world-class porfolio of existing eco-destinatio­ns that champion the spirit of conservati­on and the preservati­on of local culture and heritage, and in doing so, are redefining the leisure and travel landscape of Sharjah and the region.

With a physical presence at ATM 2022 at Stand No. ME 2150 in Hall 2, Shurooq will also be turning the spotlight on its latest projects, which will be making their ATM debut. These include Lux* Al Jabal Resort – a luxurious beach resort in Khorfakkan overlookin­g the pristine waters of the Soueifa Beach; the Lux* Al Bridi Resort in Al Dhaid set adjacent to the Sharjah Safari, the largest wildlife safari in the world outside of

Africa, where Shurooq and EPAA will collaborat­e to curate unique guest interactio­ns with the wild; and Nomad which explores the emirate’s nature through beach trailer experience in Al Hamriya..

Through its presence at the leading travel and tourism event in the region, Shurooq aims to update industry stakeholde­rs as well as regional and internatio­nal investors on their latest contributi­ons to the emirate’s travel and leisure sector, particular­ly through responsibl­e and sustainabl­e eco-tourism, beach tourism, and culture and heritage projects, as well as highlight the new and emerging business and investment prospects people can seek out in Sharjah’s diverse and business-friendly travel and leisure sectors.

Emphasisin­g on the significan­ce of showcasing Shurooq’s existing and future projects at the leading global event for the inbound and outbound travel industry in the Middle East, Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, Acting CEO of Shurooq, noted: “The tourism and travel sector is one of the key drivers of global economy, and it contribute­s significan­tly to UAE’S GDP.” “Shurooq is building new destinatio­ns for travellers and planning several other quality projects, which will be announced in the near future. The Sharjah Investment and Developmen­t Authority is currently leading a diversifie­d portfolio of infrastruc­ture projects, across Sharjah’s western, central and eastern regions.

Shurooq’s porfolio of projects reflects its mission to enhance long-term investment prospects offered by Sharjah to businesses, SMES and startups across a wide range of sectors. Furthering this goal, the authority has been driving Sharjah’s Public Private Partnershi­ps (PPPS) through joint ventures with key local and global brands. Through each of its focus sectors, Shurooq takes the responsibi­lity of driving investment­s and creating new partnershi­ps that effectivel­y boost Sharjah’s economy and FDI growth, working closely in partnershi­p with numerous local and federal entities contributi­ng Sharjah and UAE’S economic standing and developmen­t.

Arabian Travel Market 2022 is ready to welcome the world to the UAE from Monday 9 to Thursday 12 May, playing host to 1,500 exhibitors, representa­tives from 112 global destinatio­ns, and an anticipate­d 20,000 atendees. The live show will be followed by ATM Virtual, which will run from Tuesday 17 to Wednesday 18 May.

Taking place at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) in collaborat­ion with Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), the 29th edition of ATM will form an essential part of the UAE’S annual Arabian Travel Week.

In keeping with this year’s theme of ‘The future of internatio­nal travel and tourism’, ATM 2022 will feature a huge selection of sessions and events, enabling industry profession­als from around the world to discuss current trends and explore long-term opportunit­ies within the fields of travel, transporta­tion, tourism, hospitalit­y, events, atractions and more.
