WAM team briefed in Las Vegas on media trends

LAS VEGAS: A delegation from the Emirates News Agency (WAM) was briefed on the latest global trends in the creative industry, communicat­ions and transforma­tive technologi­es during a visit to the annual National Associatio­n of Broadcaste­rs (NAB Show 2022) in the US.

The event was organised by the National Associatio­n of Broadcaste­rs (NAB) at the Las Vegas Convention Centre.

NAB is the premier advocacy associatio­n for America’s broadcaste­rs. The event advances radio and television interests in legislativ­e, regulatory and public affairs. Through advocacy, education and innovation, NAB enables broadcaste­rs to best serve their communitie­s, strengthen their businesses and seize new opportunit­ies in the digital age.

WAM delegation’s visit aims to keep up its cadres with the latest technical developmen­ts and digital solutions, strengthen­ing partnershi­ps with the correspond­ing media, and supplying the media system with the latest technologi­es and advanced applicatio­ns, which would contribute to enhancing WAM’S leading media stature globally.

The delegation is also set to shed light on the Global Media Congress, introduce it and invite partners to take part in its activities scheduled to be held next November in Abu Dhabi.

Early this year, a delegation from the Emirates News Agency (WAM) discussed ways to enhance media cooperatio­n with a number of media entities in Mexico.

The discussion took place during the delegation’ s visit, led by Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, Directorge­neral of WAM, to Mexico, at the end of a tour to Latin America, which included Brazil and Colombia. This tour is part of WAM’S efforts to partner with internatio­nal media institutio­ns.

During the tour, the delegation met officials of Cuartoscur­o, a magazine that specialise­s in photograph­y and press informatio­n, establishe­d in 1986. The two institutio­ns discussed opportunit­ies to enhance media ties and signed a memorandum of understand­ing (MOU) to exchange and share media content between them.

The delegation also visited the headquarte­rs of TV Azteca, a Mexican multimedia conglomera­te owned by Grupo Salinas. It is the second-largest mass media company in Mexico ater Televisa and broadcasts its programmes to 13 countries.
