LSDA congratulates workers on Labour Day
SHARJAH: The Labour Standards Development Authority in Sharjah (LSDA) congratulated workers and employers on the Labour Day, celebrated on May 1 each year, wishing them health and safety.
On the occasion, LSDA announced completing preparations for the May Day celebrations to be held on May 3 and 4 at the Labour Park in Al Saja’a.
LSDA Chairman Salem Yousef Al Qaseer said in the authority’s message, “We are pleased at the Labour Standards Development Authority in Sharjah to congratulate workers and employers, wishing them health and safety. We are also glad to announce the resumption of celebrations on this occasion ater a pause due to the corona pandemic. We have finished preparations for holding labour celebrations on May 3 and 4 at the Labour Park in Al Sajaa Industrial Area in Sharjah.”
“Our Labour Day celebration comes in implementation of the directives of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide a decent work environment for workers and employers,” he added.
The official pointed out that this year’s celebrations will be in cooperation with many government and private establishments.
It will include awareness, educational lectures, free medical examinations for workers, as well as free dental examinations, musical shows and entertainment, and yoga sessions.
He invited workers and employers on this occasion to participate in the Labour Day celebrations to consolidate the principles of solidarity and to contribute in creating an atractive work environment in the Emirate of Sharjah.
Recently, the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) approved a drat law to reorganise the LSDA in Sharjah ater introducing a number of amendments. This came during SCC’S session held as part of its work for the third ordinary session of the tenth legislative term at its headquarters in Sharjah, headed by Ali Mehad Ali Mehad Al
Suwaidi, Chairman of the SCC).
