Dubai Police Ports Station hosts mass Iftar for partners
Colonel Jamila Al Zaabi, Director of Women Prison, confirmed their keenness to engage female inmates in various community, religious and national occasions
The Dubai Police Ports Station has recently organised a mass Itar for partners, suppliers and employees to develop brotherly ties and harmony during the holy month of Ramadan.
The initiative, which included a presentation of services provided by the Dubai Police, was witnessed by Dr Colonel Hassan Suhail Al Suwaidi, Director of the Dubai Police Ports Station, Lieutenant Colonel Ali Al Naqbi, Head of the Maritime Rescue Department, heads of departments, and senior officers.
Colonel Al Suwaidi distributed certificates of thanks and appreciation to the atendees, including teams of the Dubai Police’s community-based initiative ‘Positive Spirit’, volunteers, and Jabbour Group.
The Dubai Police have recently organised a specialised course for raids and special mission teams to respond rapidly and effectively emergencies and incidents. In his speech marking the course’s graduation ceremony, Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of the General Department for Organisations Protective Security and Emergency, said the Dubai Police General Command, headed by
Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, gives the force’s specialised teams a special priority in terms of organising courses and qualifying them scientifically, physically and psychologically to be able to respond to emergencies switly and effectively.
Maj. Gen. Al Ghaithi explained that Dubai Police had always adopted a proactive approach when training and qualifying their personnel to ensure their readiness and skills are at their best at all times. Colonel Obaid Mubarak Bin Yaroof, Director of the Department of VIP Security and Protection, explained that 18 officers from various specialised departments in Dubai Police joined the course and were trained to respond effectively and switly.
He added that the participants learned how to work under the pressure of tear gas using or without masks, and were also familiarised with the process of disembarkation using special equipment provided by the General Department of Transport and Rescue.
The course was organised by the Department of VIP Security and Protection in the
General Department of Protective Security & Emergency, in cooperation with the General Department of Transport and Rescue, in Wadi Al Shabak, an affiliated training area of the Presidential Guard Command, and took place in the presence of Colonel Juma Ahmad Buti Al Falasi, Director of the General Department of Transport and Rescue; Colonel Nasser Sibba, Commander of the Presidential Guard, and other senior officers.
EID CLOTHES FOR FEMALE INMATES: The General Department of Correctional and Punitive Institutions in Dubai, in partnership with ZOOM ENOC, has recently provided Eid clothes for female inmates as a kind gesture to help them celebrate the Eid Al Fitr holiday.
Colonel Jamila Al Zaabi, Director of Women Prison, confirmed their keenness to engage female inmates in various community, religious and national occasions and create a social environment that would make it easier for them to spend their sentences and make them feel loved and bring joy to their hearts.
Colonel Al Zaabi added, “The Department’s main objective is reformist in the first place, and it must be accompanied by rehabilitation, training and orientation programmes, in addition to extending a helping hand with charitable and humanitarian works, so that inmates restore confidence in themselves and society alike, and return to the path of righteousness.”
Colonel Al Zaabi conveyed the Department’s appreciation to Zoom ENOC via Dr. Adel Al-ali, Senior Director of Health, Safety and Environment at ENOC, and thanked them for their humanitarian and generous contribution and keenness to fulfil their social responsibility.
The Dubai Police recently returned Dhs70,000 to a passenger ater he had lost the cash on his flight back home via the Dubai International Airport.
The British passenger, Peter Lawson, did not panic despite the large sum of cash he had lost. However, he did the right thing and contacted the General Department of Airports Security and received a response within the hour that his bag was found and safe with authorities at the airport.
