UAE sees 240 new coronaviru­s cases

ABU DHABI: The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) announced 240 new coronaviru­s cases, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 898,811.

The Ministry stressed in a statement on Sunday that its aim IS to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronaviru­s cases and carry out the necessary care treatment.

As part of its intensifie­d testing campaign, MOHAP announced that it conducted 231,652 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.

The infected individual­s are from various nationalit­ies, are in a stable condition, and receiving the necessary care, according to the ministry.

The Ministry added that no Covid-19-related deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 2,302.

MOHAP also noted that an additional 392 individual­s had fully recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 882,223.

MOHAP has announced that 5,477 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were given in the past 24 hours.

The total number of doses provided up to Sunday stands at 24,734,759 with a rate of vaccine distributi­on of 250.09 doses per 100 people.
