Grant’s remarks reaffirm US conspiracy: Imran

-

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Imran Khan on Monday openly called out the Joe Biden administration of the US for its alleged involvement in a regime change “conspiracy” in Pakistan.

Imran repeatedly blamed the US for backing the no-confidence motion — that led to his ouster on April 10 — and refused to accept the newly-elected premier Shahbaz Sharif, saying “there can’t be any bigger insult to this country.”

But the Joe Biden administration denied any role in the process.

Imran, while tweeting a video of US defence analyst Rebecca Grant, asked Biden administration as to what actually they gained ater removing a democratically-elected PM of Pakistan.

Imran asked the Biden administration whether its involvement in the regime change “conspiracy” had lessened or increased the anti-american sentiment in Pakistan.

“My question for the Biden Administration: By indulging in a regime change conspiracy to remove a democratically elected PM of a country of over 220 million people to bring in a puppet PM, do you think you have lessened or increased anti-american sentiment in Pakistan,” Imran said.

In the video, Defence analyst Rebecca Grant was asked about the message she would give to Pakistan which is a nuclear power and has a big army.

In her response, Grant said Pakistan needs to support Ukraine. They would also need to end all their agreements with Russia and also should stop seeking any future deals with Russia. Grant said that Pakistan needs to limit its involvement with China.

The US defence analyst said that Pakistan also needs to end anti-us policies which are part of the reasons Imran had been voted out of the prime minister’s office a few weeks ago. Hence it’s time that Pakistan should end anti-us policies and its dealings with Russia.

Imran has spoken to huge anti-government rallies in Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar and has demanded judicial probe in what he terms the

Us-backed conspiracy to get rid of his government and instal a “government of the US puppets.”

Officials of the incumbent government have repeatedly said that Imran is blaming America for his ouster as he had failed to deliver during his tenure, but the PTI chairman remains adamant that the US, in collaboration with the then opposition, was behind his ouster.
