Harris and Acosta score as Cincinnati beat Toronto

CINCINNATI: Calvin Harris and Luciano Acosta each scored, and Cincinnati beat 10-man Toronto 2-0 on Wednesday night for its second win in the series in four days.

Harrisscor­edinthesec­ondminuteb­yredirecti­ng a cross from Brandon Vazquez on a breakaway. Acosta scored on a penalty kick in the 54th minute.

Cincinnati (4-5-1) has won four of its last eight games. Toronto (3-5-2) is winless in its last 13 road games dating to last season.

Cincinnati plays at Minnesota on Saturday. Toronto visits the Vancouver Whitecaps on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Major League Soccer reinstated suspended Austin forward Cecilio Dominguez on Wednesday ater a nearly month-long investigat­ion into a report of a domestic dispute with his partner.

Dominguez missed five games while the league and Austin police investigat­ed. Details of any findings were not immediatel­y released, but the league said that both investigat­ions have finished.

Dominguez is eligible to return to team activities provided he participat­es in league-mandated counseling.

Austin sits in second place in the Western Conference ahead of its game Sunday with the L.A. Galaxy, and Dominguez’ return brings one of the club’s top players back to the field.

The 27-year-old Paraguayan was among the team’s first signings, joining the team from Argentina club Independie­nte as Austin’s first

Designated Player. Dominguez has nine goals with Austin over two seasons, including two this season before he was suspended.

Earlier, Ryan Hollingshe­ad broke a scoreless tie withagoali­nthe82ndmi­nute,josécifuen­tesscored in the final minute of full time and Los Angeles FC regained the top spot in the Western Conference with a 2-0 victory over Minnesota United.

LAFC (7-1-1) moved two points ahead of second-place Austin FC with the win. LAFC has scored multiple goals in six of its seven victories this season.

Danny Musovski notched an assist on Hollingshe­ad’s game-winner. Diego Palacios and Francisco Ginella had assists on Cifuentes’ insurance score.

LAFC outshot Minnesota United (4-3-2) 22-6 with a 6-1 advantage in shots on goal.
