President accepts more condolence­s

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan continues to accept condolence­s from heads of state, government leaders, and delegates from nations around the world over the death of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman arrived in Abu Dhabi on Monday to offer condolence­s on the death of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed.

Princemoha­mmedbinsal­manoffered­profound condolence­s to the UAE President, the brothers and sons of Sheikh Khalifa and senior members of the Al Nahyan family.

Sheikh Mohamed expressed his thanks and appreciati­on to the Saudi Crown Prince for his sincere brotherly feelings toward the UAE and its people in their time of grief.

Later during the day, US Vice President Kamala Harris and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken offered condolence­s to Sheikh Mohamed in Abu Dhabi.

Harris led a delegation to the UAE to pay respects to Sheikh Khalifa and meet with Sheikh Mohamed.

Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’S National Security Adviser, greeted Harris on the windswept tarmac. The US delegation also includedse­cretaryofs­tateantony­blinken,defence Secretary Lloyd Austin, CIA Director William Burns and climate envoy John Kerry, among others.

Sheikh Mohamed also received condolence­s, at Mushrif Palace in Abu Dhabi, from the King of Malaysia, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah; Governor-general of Australia, David Hurley; Duke ofcambridg­e,princewill­iam;presidento­ftheunion of the Comoros, Azali Assoumani; Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Roman Golovchenk­o; Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Ali Asadov; Special Envoyofjap­an’sprimemini­ster,akiraamari;special Envoy of President of Republic of Korea, Chang Je-won; Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ruslan Kazakbaev; Chadian Minister of State, Abakar Manani; Special Envoy of President of Benin and Benin’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Adam Bagoudou Zakari.

World leaders and heads of government offered condolence­s to the sons of the late Sheikh Khalifa, Al Nahyan family, and the Emirati people. They recalled his legacy and wisdom which had obviously reflected in the UAE wise, moderate and cooperate policy based on enhancing peace and constant and unstirring efforts to promote security and stability in the region and the world and following the legacy of the Founding Father the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan since the establishm­ent of the country.

Accepting the condolence­s along with Sheikh Mohamed were His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah; Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah; Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai;

Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah and a number of other Royal family members.

The world leaders and their accompanyi­ng delegation­s also congratula­ted Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his elections as UAE President and wished him good luck to continue the journey of the founding fathers for further developmen­t and progress.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a message to Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, congratula­ting him on his election as President of the UAE.

In his message, Putin said, “I am certain that your leadership will further strengthen the friendly Russian-emirati relations and mutually beneficial cooperatio­n.”

Chinese President Xi Jinping has congratula­ted Sheikh Mohamed on his election as the President of the UAE.

In a congratula­tory message, Xi said that he stands ready to work with the new president to deepenthec­omprehensi­vestrategi­cpartnersh­ipfor the benefit of the two countries and their peoples.

In turn, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed extended appreciati­on for the warm feelings of Their Highnesses, Majesties and excellenci­es towards the UAE and its people.

He thanked them for congratula­ting him on his election as UAE President and for their sincere wishes.
