Boy rejects Rs60m offer to sell shirt signed by Imran

ISLAMABAD: Spurning the offer of Rs60 million for the shirt carrying an autograph of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, young Abu Bakar has said that he will not sell the shirt even for treasure-trove.

Shot to fame ater meeting Khan and receiving an autograph from him on his shirt, the nine-grade student Abu Bakar said that prior to the offer of Rs60 million he received for the autographe­d shirt, he also had an offer of Rs10 million earlier but he refused both of the offers.

However, he said that he would auction the shirt if he planned to sell it in future and the auctioned amount would be donated to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital.

The video of young Abu Bakar went viral ater Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI) Lakki Marwat rally as he was crying his heart out for failing to meet Khan. Later, the PTI leadership helped him meet Khan at Banigala, where the young boy gited a ring to Khan and Khan hugged the boy and gave an autograph on his shirt.

Imran Khan posted the video of the meeting on his social media accounts and later the clip went viral.

Netizens lauded Imran’s lovely gesture of inviting the emotional class 9th student to Banigala.

In the video the young supporter, Abu Bakkar, from Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhw­a (KP) province, seen crying and holding his leader’s hand again and again.

A few days ago, when Imran Khan was addressing a rally in Abbotabad, a social media activist recorded a video of Abu Bakkar, when he was crying and pleading to meet his leader Imran Khan.

However, he couldn’t meet Imran Khan in Abbotabad. The emotional boy told the Youtuber ater the rally that he walked almost 400km from Lakki Marwat to Abbotabad to meet his leader.

“I didn’t sleep nor ate any thing since I reached Abbotabad,” he said.

In the video he was seen crying and saying that he just wanted to meet Imran Khan faceto-face. He “Please, please arrange my meeting with Imran Khan,” he pleaded.

The video went viral and ater watching that clip, Imran Khan personally invited his young fan to his residence in Islamabad to fulfil his wish.

Finally Abu Bakkar met Imran Khan at Banigala on Thursday. He took his autograph on his shirt and gited a ring to his leader.
