President greets King Charles III on his crowning

ABU DHABI: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan made a phone call on Saturday to King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, during which he congratula­ted him on his ascension to the throne, wishing him success in performing his duties as King, following in the footsteps of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Th eu ae president expressed his sincere wishes of continued wellness and happiness for King Charles III, and further developmen­t and prosperity for the United Kingdom and its people.

For his part, King Charles III thanked Sheikh Mohamed for his sincere feelings towards his country and people.

Earlier, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, in a phone call on Saturday, congratula­ted Liz Truss on assuming office as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, wishing her success in her new assignment. During the call, Sheikh Mohamed expressed his wishes to the UK and its people for continued progress and prosperity.

He lauded the deep-rooted historical relations between the UAE and Britain, reaffirmin­g his keenness to consolidat­e and develop them towards further cooperatio­n for the benefit of their peoples to support regional and global security, stability and peace.

In turn, the British Prime Minister thanked Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed for his good wishes and hoped for further progress and prosperity to the people of the UAE.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a writen message to Angolan President Joao Manuel Lourenço congratula­ting him on his re-election as President of the Republic of Angola. This came as President Lourenço received Sheikh Shakhboot Bin Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of State, who participat­ed in the inaugurati­on ceremony, which was held in the capital, Luanda.

Sheikh Shakhboot conveyed to the Angolan President the greetings of Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, wishing him and the people of Angola further progress and prosperity.
