President tells ambassadors to consolidate ties with other nations
ABU DHABI: A number of new UAE Ambassadors to friendly countries have been sworn in before President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed wished the new ambassadors success in their missions to consolidate the relations of friendship and cooperation between the UAE and the countries concerned, and urged them to work tirelessly to provide Emirati citizens in those countries with all means of comfort and care for their affairs.
Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed said that the UAE is witnessing a new development phase, in which it gives great importance to its partnerships and economic relations with various countries of the world, and this places great responsibilities on its diplomatic missions abroad, stressing his confidence in the ability of the new ambassadors to carry out these responsibilities, express the UAE policy and expand the base their interests in the countries in which they represent the UAE.
The new ambassadors pledged their loyalty to the UAE to place its interests over any other considerations while performing their diplomatic tasks with a high sense of honesty, integrity and confidentiality.
Present at the swear-in ceremony were Lt. General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, and Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court.
Those who took the oath of office were UAE Ambassadors-designate Dr. Abdul Nasser Al Shaali to the Republic of India; Ahmad Wahib Moez Ahmad to the Federal Republic of Germany; Abdullah Ali Khasif Al Hamoudi to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh; Amna Mohamed Mahmoud Fikri to the Republic of Finland; Salem Suhail Al Neyadi to the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie; Abdulla Saeed Al Shamsi to the Republic of Nepal; Mohammed Ahmed Al Harbi to the Republic of Poland; Rawda Al Otaiba to the Republic of Costa Rica; Ahmad Juma Al Rumaithi to the Federal Republic of Somalia; Mohammed Mahmoud Al Shamsi to the Republic of Ireland; Ahmad Ibrahim Al Nuaimi to the Republic of Georgia; Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; and Hamad Al Zaabi to the Republic of Yemen.
On Monday, the UAE President received the credentials of a number of new ambassadors to the UAE at Qasr Al Watan, Abu Dhabi.
The President welcomed the ambassadors and wished them success in their missions to boost cooperation and friendship relations between the UAE and their respective countries.
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan received at Qasr Al Bahr Majlis on Tuesday, Alikhan Smailov, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, who is on a working visit to the country.

Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan and conveyed his greetings to Kassym-jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, wishing him good health and happiness and further progress and prosperity to Kazakhstan and its people.
The meeting addressed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries in various domains and ways to develop them.
For his part, Ismailov thanked Sheikh Mohamed for the warm reception, and conveyed to him the greetings of President Tokayev and his wishes of continued health and happiness, and further progress and development for the UAE and its people.
Sheikh Mohamed also received a writen message from President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa, dealing with opportunities for scaling bilateral relations to new heights in order to serve mutual interests.
Sheikh Mohamed received the message as he welcomed Dr Bejani Chauke, Advisor to the President of South Africa and his Special envoy, at Qasr Al Bahr Majlis, who also conveyed to him the greetings of President Ramaphosa and his best wishes for continued health and happiness as well as further progress and prosperity for the UAE people.
Earlier, Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, received Alikhan Smailov and his delegation.
The meeting addressed ways of enhancing the cooperation between the UAE and Kazakhstan, in line with their process of development, as well as issues of mutual concern.
Sheikh Mansour highlighted the importance of the deep-rooted strategic partnership between the two countries, noting that the UAE’S leadership is keen to strengthen their ties.
He also wished Smailov and his delegation a successful visit to the UAE, to achieve its goals of improving the bilateral ties between the two countries, launching mutual development projects and atracting investment.
Sheikh Mansour and Smailov atended the signing of seven Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) and cooperation protocols between the UAE and Kazakhstan.
Suhail Bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and Serikkali Brekeshev, Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources, talked about a roadmap for implementing an MOU signed by the two ministries. They also signed the Green Bridge Partnership Programme charter.
Under the same framework, Omar Suwaina
Al Suwaidi, Under-secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, and Kairat Turibayev, Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, signed an MOU between the two ministries in the area of technical regulations, standardisation, conformity assessment, accreditation and standards.
Abdulrahman Al Hammadi, Under-secretary of the Ministry of Education for Performance Improvement, and Kuanysh Yergaliyev, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, signed a cooperation protocol in the field of higher education.
Moreover, the national archives of both countries agreed on a cooperation protocol, which was signed by Abdullah Majid Al Ali, Director-general of the National Archives, and Yerzhan Yerkinbayev, Vice Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan.
The two sides also signed an MOU between the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan and the Department of Culture and Tourism-abu
Dhabi in the field of tourism, which was signed by Saud Abdulaziz Al Hosani, Under-secretary of the Department of Culture and Tourism, and Yerkinbayev.
Abdullah Mohamed Al Mazrouei, President of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, signed a cooperation agreement with Kairat Torebayev, Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.
