World Giftedness Centre Award winners announced
DUBAI: Two researchers from the Kingdom of Bahrain and Spain won the `Applied Research Global Award of Gited Education’, and two schools from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Australia earnt the `School Global Award Initiative of Gited Education’ of the inauguration cycle of the World Gitedness Centre Awards 2022.
The `Applied Research Global Award of Gited Education’ was won by Ahmed Mohammed Al Abbasi from the Kingdom of Bahrain for his research entitled “Are gited students more emotionally intelligent than their non-gited peers:” A meta analysis.”
Also, Alejandro Veas Iniesta from Spain won for hisresearchentitled“differencesinpersonal,familial, social, and school factors between underachieving andnon-underachievinggitedsecondarystudents”.
Asforthe`schoolglobalawardinitiativeofgited Education’, it was won by Al Anjal National Schools in Saudi Arabia for the project entitled “MACLE”, which reflects Motivate, Accomodate, Care, Lead and Enrich. Moreover, Sydney Catholic Schools in Australia won this award for the project entitled “Newman Selective Gited Education Program”.
These results were unveiled by Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance during a press conference held on Wednesday in Dubai.
Dr Jamal Al Muhairi - Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Secretary-general of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance said: “We are pleased to announce the winners of the World Gitedness Centre Awards 2022, which include the `School Global Award Initiative of Gited Education’ and the `Applied Research Global Award of Gited Education.’
These awards aim to promote best practices and exceptional efforts in the field of gitedness and education and contribute to the development of research in this emerging field thus nurturing talented people around the world. The awards targeted PHD holders, researchers, in addition to all school personnel who are involved in initiatives and innovative projects that contribute to the development of gitedness around the world.”
Theawardsatractedseveralentriesfromnumerous countries and an international jury composed of elite assessors evaluated each entry.
The inaugurated cycle of the World Gitedness Centre Awards, which includes the `School Global Award Initiative of Gited Education’ and the `Applied Research Global Award of Gited Education’ was launched in conjunction with the inauguration of the World Gitedness Centre in October 2021 at Expo 2020 Dubai. Nominations were received from October 2021 to May 2022.
