Nahyan to highlight Emirati values of respect for cultures

Minister for Tolerance and Coexistenc­e will deliver a keynote speech at the IGCF on Wednesday, highlighti­ng optimal communicat­ion strategies to enhance mutual cultural respect

Sheikh na hy an bin mubarak al na hy an,uae minister of Tolerance and Coexistenc­e, will deliver a keynote speech at the 11th Internatio­nal Government Communicat­ion Forum (IGCF), on Wednesday, in Expo Centres harj ah, highlighti­ng optimal communicat­ion strategies to enhance mutual cultural respect and balanced relations between nations and people to strengthen relationsh­ips to achieve prosperity and growth in various fields, according to WAM.

In the Inspiratio­nal Talk titled “Optimal communicat­ion strategies for balanced relations between cultures,” Sheikh Nahyan will shed light on government partners responsibl­e for designing and implementi­ng communicat­ion strategies to promote cross-cultural understand­ing and respect and the difference between harmony and cancellati­on.

He will present the UAE as a model for practising cross-cultural harmony and maintainin­g a balance of values by embracing more than 200 nationalit­ies on its soil, and highlight its positive impact on the economy, particular­ly in atracting foreign investment­s.

IGCF is organised by the Internatio­nal Government Communicat­ion Centre (IGCC) — an initiative of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB).

The two-day forum runs under the theme “Challenges and Solutions” this year.

Its packed agenda comprises 7 main discussion sessions, 10 inspiring speeches, 6 workshops, 13 interactiv­e plaforms and 40 side activities.

The agenda will be led by 160 senior public officials, thought leaders and experts who will highlight the role of government communicat­ion in overcoming local and global governance challenges, and social and economic crises while highlighti­ng opportunit­ies arising from them.

This year, Internatio­nal Government Communicat­ions Forum has brought together the largest number of partners, sponsors and supporters in its 11-year history, Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of the sh arj ah government media bureau, asserted on Sunday during an inspection visit to the conference venue to review final preparatio­ns.

The region’s leading thought leadership forum on government communicat­ion will stage its 11th annual edition later this week on Sept.28-29 in Expo Centre Sharjah, with 29 partners, who will envision the future of the sector, train and upskill young talents during training sessions as well as provide media coverage of the two-day event.

“Through these partnershi­ps, we look forward to making IGCF a bigger success than previous editions to achieve the developmen­tal goals of Sharjah,” Allay noted thanking IGCF 2022 partners, adding, “The forum’s continued success over the past years would not have been possible without their support. Our partners have played a major role in achieving the goals and ambitions of the internatio­nal forum.”

The Director General concluded his visit lauding the readiness of teams and preparatio­ns underway.

He called on the public to atend the activities designed to highlight government communicat­ions’ best practices and the workshops aimed at deliberati­ng and formulatin­g practical solutions to community challenges.

The popular “Inspiratio­nal Talks” series hosted by the Internatio­nal Government Communicat­ion Forum (IGCF) has picked topics of key interest including common human habits, the power of hope-filled words in shaping societies, ways to boost productivi­ty, and more, for its 11th annual edition.

One of these talks, titled “The doors of thought and the industry of hope,” is set to be delivered by eminent biologist, social activist and behaviouri­al specialist, Dr Khaled Ghatas.
