Company opens new branch amid high demand

DUBAI: Growing with the opening of new outlets across the UAE, one of the world’s largest restaurant brands, expanding local footprint to promote and accessible freshly made, craveable food for local residents.

With the opening of 125th outlet in the UAE in partnershi­p with its master franchisee, Kamal Osman Jamjoom Group (KOJ Group), Subway presence in the region as consumers are increasing­ly demanding more beter-foryou, convenient food options.

The opening ceremony atended including Subway’s Chief Executive Officer John Chidsey and President of EMEA Mike Kehoe, as well as KOJ Group’s Chairman and Founder Kamal Jamjoom and CEO Hisham Al Amoudi.

“Over the past year, Subway has rapidly expanded its global footprint by signing nine internatio­nal agreements with well-establishe­d, large-scale operators, like the KOJ Group. These agreements will result in over 5,300 new internatio­nal restaurant­s,” said John Chidsey.

“It was truly an honour to atend the opening of the 125th restaurant in the UAE and experience the brand’s excitement from our internatio­nal guests.”

“Our local partner in the region KOJ is perfect example to go further and built more branches in the region. They (KOJ) have the passion and with the number of retail brands with good penetratio­n in the region and we are going to get benefit of it,” he said.

“The KOJ Group is Subway’s first exclusive master franchisee in the UAE, and we were thrilled to have John and Mike here to witness the first of many new restaurant openings in the country,” said Kamal Jamjoom.

“We look forward to continuing to grow Subway’s presence in the region and delivering beter food and a beter guest experience across all of the restaurant­s in the UAE.”

Mike Kehoe while talking on the expansion in the region, said “the UAE and Saudi Arabia are growing similarly but we saw exciting growth in Kuwait with the opening of 22 restaurant­s in 2022. The overall growth for Subway is 11 per cent yearly since 2019 in the region as we have opened 156 branches in the region this year.

He also mentioned that they are on the track to open more branches in the UAE to serve more residents. “Competitio­n is definitely there but it is good time for us to grow in the region as well as globally, our group working on various fronts to expand the brand rapidly worldwide. Our target is to serve more people with the opening of new branches besides creating jobs and helping local community in the region,” he said.
