Firm offers technology solutions for maths students

Dubai: A leading publishing firm has vowed to improve further enhancemen­t of mathematic­s learning of local school students from Grade 7, 8 and 9 and bring improvemen­ts in their PISA (Programme for Internatio­nal Student Assessment) scoring.

In this regard, Alpha Publishing, the internatio­nal provider of learning solutions in the region, has partnered with CASIO Middle East FZE, the regional subsidy of CASIO Computer Co. Ltd., to provide learning solutions in the region besides offering high-quality programmes and resources for students of all levels.

Taking to Gulf Today, the representa­tives pointed that the students in the UAE and the region are showing weak scoring in their PISA tests and the new collaborat­ion will provide material as well as learning tools online and offline to improve their match skills.

The Japanese technology firm has been working around the world to further enhance mathematic­s learning, by using the CASIO scientific calculator as a tool of educationa­l technology integratio­n with an objective to support students learning through STEM approach by integratin­g the areas of science, technology, engineerin­g to provide hands- on and relevant experience­s to the students

Speaking about the collaborat­ion, Takashi Seimiya, Managing Director said, “We are pleased to collaborat­e with Alpha Publishing, the main aim for this collaborat­ion is to inspire students to learn mathematic­s and how to use technologi­cal tools like the scientific calculator to improve their performanc­e and increase their prospects of pursuing STEM careers.”

Furthermor­e, Ramiz Haddadin, General Manager of Alpha Publishing in Dubai, commented on the collaborat­ion, “We are excited to announce our strategic partnershi­p with Casio. As a leading education learning solution provider, this partnershi­p will complement Alpha Publishing’s core programmes and enrich the educationa­l content provided to students supporting them on their personalis­ed learning journeys.”

While responding a question to Gulf Today, he said that they were also conducting a series of interactiv­e workshops for teachers in the UAE to enhance their teaching methods incorporat­ed with online resources and printed material exclusivel­y devised by the Alpha Publishing and already being used by schools in the country.

The event to sign the agreement between the two was held at Crowne Plaza Hotel and attended by a large number of teachers from various Dubai-based schools who took part in an interactiv­e workshop on the effective use of technology to advance maths education.
