Al Qasimi Publications issued the novel, “Al Jaria’h” (The Daring) by His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The Ruler of Sharjah recounts the genuine story of “Marie Petit,” a woman who accompanied the French ambassador to Persia to collect a loan she had owed him, and who ultimately rescued the French expedition.
What happened to her when she went back to France and how she was tried are also detailed in the story.
The novel has 5 chapters and 86 pages and cites hundreds of foreign references.
Sheikh Sultan has authored 76 books throughout the realms of history, theatre, and literature, and many of them have been translated into 20 other languages.
This book is his most recent release. SHARJAH RULER EXEMPTS ELDERLY FROM RENT IN SOUK AL ARSAH: His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, directed the exemption from rents of the elderly citizens’ shop owners in the Souk Al Arsah, in order to expedite the shop maintenance, along with fulfilling other needs.
Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, Acting Executive Director of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), explained, in a telephone interview on the “Direct Line” programme via Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA), that Shurooq is in charge of the shops’ interior designs renovation and decorations, which are about 10 shops, along with providing goods and arranging stores, ensuring smoothness in operating their businesses. He revealed that all maintenance and decoration works will be completed, in cooperation with the Sharjah Antiquities Authority, by the end of 2022, including the opening of all entrances to the market. He pointed out that the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), through the direction of the Executive Council, ordered the cancellation of all commercial licensing fees for these stores.
SH AR J AH CENSUS HELPS IN WELFARE PROJECTS: His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, said, “The census is very important, because it helps me communicate with the community, and the next census helps me to do the studies that I apply to reality, which turn into decisions, financing and projects.”
Sheikh Sultan said this during the Direct Line programme on Monday,
“The Executive Council represents all Sharjah departments, and the Advisory Council is the observer of the departments and the decisions of the Executive Council, and I am between them.”
Sheikh Sultan continued: “I will work to change the legislation for suburban and village councils to hear the voices and demands of the community, and this is the first correction of the administrative structure in the Emirate of Sharjah, and every municipality forms a community, and now I put each one as it needs all services, now every city has a community unit, and I deal with in a way that makes society safe and healthy, its income is available, it does not need subsidy, and it never extends a hand.”
Sheikh Sultan said, “These maters, God willing, are easy because we strive and plan for them, and the representative of the Executive Council is the one who decides based on what he receives from the Advisory Council and the municipalities, and thus the process is clear.”
