UAE hotel key to explore significan­ce of Dubai Creek

DUBAI: Al Bandar Rotana, a five-star hotel with a prime waterfront outlook is a key atraction for tourists as the property is located on Dubai Creek side, which has a distinctiv­e historical, cultural, shipping and trading significan­ce for Dubai.

Ayman Ashor, Cluster General Manager, Al Bandar Rotana and Arjaan by Rotana mentioned that apart from other amenities and services, the unique selling point (USP) of Al Bandar Rotana is linked to Dubai Creek, which is not only the City of Wonders’ first major port, but is also full of historical importance.

“Dubai Creek has served as a safe harbour to trade along with other ports of Arabian Gulf.” “The creek split through the ground in the 1950s to form a small canal. The Greeks used to refer to the Dubai Creek as River Zara.” Ashor added.

He noted that the Creek divides two major districts in Dubai, namely Deira and Bur Dubai which are the heart of Dubai’s heritage.
