Workshop owner pays car owner Dhs13,000

-

abu Dhabi: Al Ain Court of First Instance obligated the owner of a workshop and one of the workers to pay the owner of a car Dhs13,000.

The owner of the car let it in the workshop for repair, and later he received a call from the police informing him that the worker at the workshop had commited a traffic accident with his vehicle.

The details date back to an earlier time, when the owner of the vehicle filed a lawsuit against the owner of the workshop and one of its employees, demanding that they be obligated to pay the value of the vehicle Dhs9,800, material compensation of Dhs4,000, in addition to Dhs350 for the car towing fees, and obligating them to pay the fees and expenses of the lawsuit and the lawyer’s fees.

The complainant explained that he let his vehicle in the workshop to repair it, and ater hours the police called him telling him that a worker in the workshop drove the vehicle while drunk and commited a traffic accident.

The complainant also indicated that the worker was convicted of the incident according to a final criminal ruling and that his car became useless and he was forced to use another vehicle.

The court said that the criminal ruling convicted the worker of the charge of using the vehicle without the consent of its owner, as well as causing damage to it and rendering it unfit for use, which was a final ruling.

The court added that the ruling estimated that the amount of Dhs13,000, included fees for towing the vehicle and the value of its repair.

The court also indicated that the worker commited the accident while he was at his workplace and therefore the owner of the workshop is jointly responsible for compensating the owner of the vehicle.
