Department of Health’s website lists harmful products

ABU DHABI: The Department of Health in Abu Dhabi said on its website that it had seized 131 adulterate­d products during the first quarter of 2023, noting that global and regional health organisati­ons have warned against those products which were manufactur­ed by unknown companies, in addition to containing active ingredient­s and materials which result in serious health effects.

The Department clarified that the list of products includes adulterate­d or contaminat­ed nutritiona­l supplement­s, which are used for the purpose of muscle building, bodybuildi­ng, sexual enhancemen­t, weight loss, beautifica­tion, or any other reasons, the most prominent of which are:

Airee Beauty Care - Night Cream, Kamagra Oral Jelly, Super P-force Oral Jelly, Beneks Fashion Fair cream, Beneks Hot Movate Gel, Clearbact Cream, Dermovate Cream, Diprosone cream, Isispharma Lemonfat, Isapharma Movate , Fanpaket - A Triple Action Cream, H20 Joe’s

Natural Cream, H20 Jours Naturel Cream Aloe Vera, H20 Jours Natural Papaya Cream, H20 Jours Natural Pastigo Cream, Janet Papaya Cream, Kojic Clear Fast Action, L’abidjanais­e Cream and La Bamakoise Cream.

The Department indicated that these products are manufactur­ed and stored in inappropri­ate conditions and does not adhere to good manufactur­ing practices, which may cause contaminat­ion with harmful substances such as bacteria, fungi, and heavy metals. It added that some of them have been adulterate­d with medicinal substances whose presence in the product is not declared.

The Department warns the public not to purchase or consume any such harmful product on the list on the Department of Health’s website, and advises to seek medical advice from the physician or healthcare profession­al before consuming any dietary supplement.
