KU to graduate new group of students on May 24

abudhabi: Under the patronage of Sheikh Hamed Binzayedal­nahyan,chairmanof­khalifauni­versity of Science and Technology’s Board of Trustees, the University will organise the graduation ceremony on 24 May at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

The event happening in the Year of Sustainabi­lity will honour the success of the University’s 549 students from various undergradu­ate, graduate, and PHD programmes, including 29 medical graduates, first from the College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS). Ten MD graduates got matched into residencie­s in prestigiou­s health organisati­ons in the US including Mayo Clinic among others, while the remaining graduates are in the process of geting matched.

In all, 37 students will receive their PHD degrees, while 157 will receive their Masters at the graduation ceremony. A total of 326 students will be receiving theirbache­lor’sdegrees,makingtheo­verallnumb­ers to 549 including the medical graduates. Out of this, 259 are male students and 290 female (almost 53%). Marking the Year of Sustainabi­lity, Khalifa University has the distinctio­n of graduating four Master of Science students from the Water and Environmen­talenginee­ringprogra­mmeandfive­from the Sustainabl­e Critical Infrastruc­ture programme.

Professor Sir John O’reilly, President, Khalifa University, said: “The graduation ceremony reflects the celebratio­n of a student’s successful academic accomplish­ments, making it one of the memorable days in their lives. This year, the celebratio­ns have added significan­ce because of the first cohort of MD graduates from the College of Medicine and Health Sciences. The ceremony will be a special occasion that acknowledg­es the achievemen­ts of the graduating students, who are trained and qualified to take up challengin­g tasks in academic and profession­al fields. They will also become key stakeholde­rs contributi­ng to Abu Dhabi’s economic andsocialo­bjectives.congratula­tionstothe­students and their families.”
