BIG RELIEF

-

It’s a laudable decision taken by the United Arab Emirates’ government which exempted Sudanese expatriates in the UAE from fines for violating residency laws because the country is facing a civil war (“Sudanese expats in UAE exempted from fines for violating residency law,” May 19, Gulf Today website).

According to the report, the Federal Authority for Identity, Nationality, Customs and Ports Security announced that it has exempted nationals of the Republic of Sudan who are in the UAE from all fines incurred for violating the Law on Entry and Residence of Foreigners, as of April 15, 2023, taking into account the humanitarian situation and the variable conditions that Sudan is going through.

This decision comes within the framework of the UAE’S directives and its noble human values, and the keenness of its wise leadership to seek a decent life for the residents of the Sudanese nationals present in the country, and taking into account the emergency humanitarian dimensions in light of the repercussions and resulting disturbances and the challenges related to the lives of individuals. The decision to help Sudanese brothers and sisters living in the United Arab Emirates is rightly in the spirit of humanitarian ground and it’s highly praiseworthy. I know the hard time the innocent people of Sudan are facing right now shall pass and things will be normal in their country. The UAE remains a top country to help people at the time of their need in a dignified manner. I would like to appreciate the decision taken by the United Arab Emirates’ government to provide a huge relief to Sudanese expatriates who live in the country.
