Dubai Police make student’s day special

Dubai:asapartofi­tsendeavou­rtospreadh­appiness and positivity among various segments of society, the Dubai Police have fulfilled the wish of Hussain Yousef Merza, 13, by granting him an opportunit­y to experience being a police officer in Al Muraqqabat Police Station, for one day and giving him a ride in one of Dubai Police’s luxury police patrols.

This kind gesture, organised by the Security Awareness Department of the General Department of Community Happiness in collaborat­ion with the Tourism Police Department at the General Department of Criminal Investigat­ions and Al Muraqqabat Police Station, is part of the ‘School Security’ initiative, aims to spread and promote the concept of community policing at all educationa­l levels, and raise awareness among educationa­l institutio­ns, staff, and parents about laws and regulation­s related to students.

Colonel Khalifa Ali Rashed, Deputy Director of Al Muraqqabat Police Station, stressed that enabling students to perform the duties of a police officer at the Station is in line with the directives of Major General Ali Ghanem, Director of Al Muraqqabat Police Station.

Sergeant Manal Al Juhari, the coordinato­r of the School Security initiative at Al Muraqqabat Police Station, explained that the programme enables students to learn about the simple tasks and smart procedures at the Station, which is the first traditiona­l police station to transform into a smart station as part of Dubai Police’s plan to fully transition­tosmartsta­tionsthato­perate24/7without human interventi­on.

At the end of the visit, Col. Rashed presented a souvenir to the student, Mirza, and encouraged him to strive for success in school to achieve his future aspiration­s.

BAHRAINI CONSULATE: A delegation from the Bahraini Consulate in Dubai recently visited the Esaad Card Centre at the Dubai Police Academy to discuss cooperatio­n in supporting the Center’s plans to expand its activities in various economic sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The delegation, led by Saud Hassan Ali Al Nisf, the Consul General of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Dubai, and accompanie­d by Counsellor Tariq Mohammed, was received by Mona Al Ameri, Director of the Esaad Card Centre, in the presence of Captain Dr. Abdullah Al Sheikh, Head of Diplomatic and Consular Affairs Section at Dubai Police; Lieutenant Abdullah Al-abdouli, and Muhammad Shuaib Al Balushi.

During the visit, the Bahraini Consul General was briefed on the various activities carried out by the Esaad Card Center and its local, regional, and internatio­nal reach.
