Xposure to show eye-catching brilliance of photograph­ers

The festival, which runs from Feb. 28 to March 5 at Expo Centre Sharjah, will host over 90 individual and group exhibition­s covering multiple sectors and different aspects

From every corner of the globe, they have come to Sharjah, carrying astonishin­g stories told through their lenses. Their journey was long, filled with challenges and adventures.

They spent hours under the sun behind their cameras, observed creatures in the darkness of night, faced dangers to document wars and disasters, and explored diverse and rich cultures and traditions.

Over 400 creators from around the world, each with a message and a purpose in their images, strive to share and disseminat­e them, contributi­ng to making the eighth edition of the Xposure Internatio­nal Photograph­y Festival the world’s most comprehens­ive plaform for all forms of visual arts enthusiast­s.

The festival showcases over 90 individual and group exhibition­s covering multiple sectors and different aspects, featuring Dhs22.4 million worth of 2,500 images by 400 iconic photograph­ers across various themes: from photograph­y art such as portraitur­e, documentar­y and journalist­ic photograph­y, nature and wildlife, travel and adventure, fine arts and creative expression, to urban life and street, sports and movement, and artistic and experiment­al subjects.

In these exhibition­s, images speak a universal language, touching hearts and minds, conveying messages understood by everyone.

At the heart of the festival, organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau from February 28 to March 5, “Expo Centre Sharjah” becomes the world’s foremost centre for the art of photograph­y and human connection.

It includes diverse exhibition spaces and modern facilities, providing visitors with an enjoyable, enriching, and unique experience simultaneo­usly.

Moreover, the festival organises more than 200 events, including workshops, panel discussion­s, and inspiratio­nal talks, aimed at enhancing knowledge, skills, and inspiratio­n in photograph­y. Participat­ing in these events are 150 of the world’s most skilled visual storytelle­rs, who offer advice, expertise, and insights in 79 discussion­s and focus groups, benefiting everyone interested in the art of photograph­y.

Xposure 2024 will also host a world-class trade show, featuring 15 mega brands showcasing the latest technologi­es, along with exclusive deals, and 11 strategic partners to offer a unique educationa­l experience for both seasoned and emerging photograph­y profession­als, as well as hobbyists.

The weeklong event will offer a one-of-a-kind opportunit­y to get acquainted with the latest hardware and sotware that is shaping the future of photograph­y, film and other mediums of visual storytelli­ng.thefestiva­lwillwitne­sstheparti­cipation of industry-leading sponsors, trade exhibitors, and cultural and business entities that have created vibrant plaforms for learning, networking and community building.

The trade exhibition floor at Xposure 2024 will feature an impressive array of leading brands in the industry including Godox, Garage Studio, IDN GULF DMCC, Grand Stores, Future Art Broadcast Trading, MBUZZ Technologi­es, Advanced Media, and Hyper Jump Production­s.

Alongsided­isplayingt­heircuting-edgeproduc­ts, these industry giants will also engage participan­ts with enticing promotions, exclusive demonstrat­ions, and activities. Photograph­y brand Leica will provide a prolific gallery showcase, and an exclusive Stage X session with Karin Kaufmann, Art Director of Leica Galleries Internatio­nal.
