Ramadan drive for support of needy

DUBAI: Mall and retail firm in Dubai have launched campaigns to support Emirates Red Crescent and Dubai Islamic Affairs through their donations in collaborat­ions of their customers to support needy community members.

The Géant and aswaaq are offering incredible discounts with their Ramadan Mega Deals, featuring up to 50% off on a wide range of products throughout the month. They also partner with Emirates Red Crescent to contribute to the wellbeing of the community by providing Itar and Suhoor meals, as well as toys for children.

Marc Laurent, President, Retail – Everyday Goods at GMG, said, “Ramadan is a time of reflection, connection, and celebratio­n. At Géant, we’re embracing this special season with a ‘Ramadan of firsts,’ showcasing our evolution to provide a complete shopping experience that caters to all your needs.”

The firms also announced to hold Fresh Festivals throughout the month including Lebanese Festival, Citrus Festival, Proudly UAE, and Berries Festival, highlight the diverse flavours and seasonal produce.

To embrace the spirit of giving, Mercato is partnering with Emirates Red Crescent and Dubai Islamic Affairs to launch a month-long charity donation campaign titled “Share Your Blessings.”

Thisinitia­tiveencour­agesshoppe­rstocontri­bute toys, books, daily essentials, and non-perishable food to support those in need during Ramadan. Donation boxes will be convenient­ly located at Mercato’s main entrance, allowing visitors to drop off their contributi­ons throughout the Holy Month.

During the last two weeks of Ramadan, families can enjoy the theatrical show “Lantern’s Glow.” This captivatin­g production not only entertains but also educates children about the significan­ce of Ramadan in an engaging manner, providing a wonderful opportunit­y for them to immerse themselves in the traditions and beauty of this special time of year at Mercato.

For children, Mercato offers an exciting lineup of activities, including engaging creative workshops where they can crat Ramadan paper lanterns and decoration­s.
