Two held in ‘human sacrifice’ case

-

KOCHI: Ater a gap of nearly two years, another shocking case of human sacrifice has been reported from Idukki district of Kerala.

Two suspects were arrested by Kerala police on Thursday in connection with a thet case from Idukki and during questioning investigators received crucial hints of a suspected double murder. Kanchiyar natives Vishnu Vijayan, 27, and his accomplice Rajesh alias Nitheesh, 31, were nabbed by the police for stealing valuables from an automobile repair shop on Thursday.

Police found Vishnu’s mother and sister locked inside the house when they reached there as part of the evidence collection in the thet case. The two women told police about the two murders, suspected to be part of a human sacrifice plan.

The police also received information regarding human sacrifice during the questioning.

According to the available information, the accused, Vishnu Vijayan, allegedly killed his father Vijayan and his sister’s newborn and buried their bodies under the floor of their old house near Sagara Junction, Katappana, district capital of Idukki district.

The evidence collected by the police also revealed connections to the practice of black magic and sorcery. The newborn baby was taken away from the mother on the pretext of giving it to a “Gandharvan.”

Nitheesh, the father of the child, is the main brain behind the act, say reports.

A rented house occupied by one of the accused at Kanchiyar is under police surveillance now.

While visiting the house, police recovered evidence that hints at black magic practices.

With these findings, police suspect that Vishnu and Rajesh killed the child and the elderly man as part of human sacrifice.

Vishnu, injured while fleeing from police, is currently under treatment at Kotayam Government Medical College Hospital, while Rajesh has been remanded in judicial custody.

In October 2022 in a similar incident, two women in their 50s, who were reported missing from Kochi, were murdered, dismembered and buried in a suspected case of “ritualistic human sacrifice” by a couple in Pathanamthita.
